Focus SE Body Part Compatibility

Hello All,

I recently acquired a 2001 Focus SE (4-door, Zetec) in an auction that seems to be in pretty good mechanical shape. However, it is in need of significant body work - namely the hood and front facia as well as the driver's side rear door. Before I venture off to the local pick-n-pull to restore her, I'm curious as to what years this body style is compatible with (for those parts)?

This car was gotten on behalf of my girlfriend who is relocating from London, UK. Reliability is a must. This car has 97,000mi on it, but is clean. 95% of the driving will be local anyway. For $900 - what the hey? The car seemed strong and I've always been impressed with the handling of the Focus. This one is no different.

What other sort of things should I be warned about? During the trip home, there was a brief "hesitation" as if the car was briefly fuel starved. My research revealed that there was an issue (recall?) related to fuel delivery. What are the symtoms?

Thanks for all your help,

Marc

00-04 is the years you will be looking for.

the symptoms for the fuel pump recall are basicly on a low tank the car will shut off or stumble and will not start again. There are a 2 members on here (B16sir, and djlukdog) that work at ford and can run your VIN to see if the recall or any thing has been done for the car.

all body parts from sedans will work from 00-04. all front body parts from sedans, wagons, zx3, and zx5 from 00-04 will work (hood, fenders, grills, etc.) only part mechanical im not sure of would be those off a wagon, but as i said its front clip is the same.
the hiccup may have just been from the fuel in it, those auction cars can sit for a long time and fuel can go bad. use some fuel system cleaner and fresh gas for a bit and see if that helps.

Thanks. I'm looking forward to the "hunt" tomorrow.

As for the hesitation, the tank was at about a 1/4 and I was going uphill approaching my home. I was unsucessful in getting it to do it again.

I'll post before and after pics when the transformation is complete.

Thanks again all!

Marc
