Importing a RS?

I was just curious if anyone has every tried to import a Focus RS.
How smart are the people at the ports, would they even know the difference between a zx3 and a RS?
What are the VIN numbers like over seas, are they any different than ours?
Has anyone on this forum ever imported a car from over seas?
If so what was the proceedure after the car had landed in the port?
I had also uncovered that there is a rule stateing that if the vehicle is for competition use it can stay. But the car must be recognized by certain organization such as FIA etc..
I was also reading that if the car isn't allowed here that it must either be exported back to where it came from or Physicaly destroyed infront of the propper people.
Now, what would they consider destoyed? Could a person dismantle the car carefully and catorgize all the parts???
I know its a long short and maybe not all that legal, but I know for a fact an RS could make it way over here.

Ford imported I belive 3 RS and no its not fesable or easy to do and requires north of 100K and yes you can get parts but you can get a widebody kit and a turbo and basically have the look and feel of an RS.

Search this topic has been cover several times.

Welcome to FF. Check out some of the other threads there is lots to learn.

There was another thread on this awhile back. It can be done and it relatively easy but can be expensive. There are importers all across the US that can assist you. You would be FAR better off to contact one of them and let them handle it even though you will have to pay them. Theres alot of paper work involved and they are the experts. Its not a $100k thing like he stated (no offence), i have looked into this before with some Hondas and a couple of other cars, they basically will ask you what youre wanting, they will see what they can get and give you a price. Some even have a waiting list for certian cars. One importer i talked with would take a secured deposit and would let you pay after they had recieved the car you want.

Give my boss a call:

888-779-9153

If you find one for sale and need a quote, ask for Jack and tell him Travis refered you to him. He'll give you an awsome deal to ship to the US . I believe that it'll prolly run no more than $4000 to ship, but then you have to deal with the taxes and such.

PM me if you need more details .
