Question dropped nut from strut tower into engine bay

My brother in law and I were installing my strut tower brace, and he accidentally dropped one of the nuts from the strut tower into the engine bay. It went somewhere between the battery and fuse box. So we took out the battery, and battery housing to see if it slipped under there, but we didn't find anything. I just replaced all the nuts after that, and assume the one that was dropped will just fall out sometime, but I want to make sure it cant hurt anything, thanks.

Always keep an extendable magnet handy for those type of situations

"Always keep an extendable magnet handy for those type of situations"

Yup.

On more than one occassion I have used a flexible magnet and successfully "fished around" blind in areas I could not see, and come up with the nut or bolt! There are many types sold, but I prefer having a couple around. A "bendable" one that gets into almost any place, and a extendable one with a light built in, which extends telescopically like a "pointer pen."

They're rather inexpensive and nice to have around "just in case"

Lots of places sell them, including Sears.

I tried one of those magnets, but I still couldn't find it. Kinda bothers me, but oh well.
