07 Focus w/o tach

I just ordered an 07 3 dr SE, turns out I can't get a tach for it unless I upgrade to the GFX package which I don't want, and I don't really want to stick a big aftermarket tach on my dash. So I'm wondering if anyone knows whether I can get an 06 speedo/tach cluster from somewhere and install it in an 07? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

what you can do is find a junked 05-07 and pull the cluster. When you install it, you'll need a tach driver to run data to the tach, otherwise it'll sit uselssly in the cluster. You'll also need the dealer to reprogram the odometer to the amount of miles that are on the old one.

personally, unless you have a stickshift, i'd not bother with it.

if you're dead set on it, autometer also makes tachs with a diameter of 2-3 inches, instead of 4-5-6-7 inches.

I thought that the factory clusters were plug-n-play. I never knew you needed a tach driver to have the tach work.

Incorrect 05-07 is plug and play I know personally I did it. You just need to pull yours out and put a new one in. No tach driver needed.

You COULD upgrade to the SES and still not need the SAP package, trust me I have one.

All the gauges are plug and play, the catch is a 04 and down will not fit the 05 and up. Now if you find a 05-06 cluster in a junk yard I am pretty sure the mileage SHOULD be low, so to not deal with the hassle of the dealer (since most will not do touch it b/c of federal law) just wait until your car has the same mileage as the new cluster with tach and THEN swap.

Its easiest cheapest way, b/c the few dealers that will do it will charge a large penny.

It's a standard and the only way i can get a tach up here on the 3 door is to buy the gfx package for 07, it's not available for either the S or th SE models, which I think is super stupid especially when the wagon comes with it as a standard feature with automatic. Thanks for the suggestions though
