02 zx3 CAI, what to buy?

hey guys, give me a list of various CAI's both long and short ram, and with various prices too. i am looking for a good one, my car has one on it now that came with the car, but i hate it because its impossible to find a new air filter replacement cause its only a 2 1/2 pipe, and also because it rattles cause it is cheap and 2 of the mounts on it broke. i found this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MakeTrack=true
but i think its gonna be crap too, so idont think i will mess with that. so i am wanting a new one, let me know.... THANKS!

p.s., awesome idea on starting a new discussion topic just for intakes and such

First let me make it clear that this board is not so much a place to discuss "intakes and such", it's a Sponsored "Vendor Specific Discussion" board. That is sponsored by IntakesAndExhaust.com. Although, you are of course perfectly welcome to post any topic you like. Happy to help anytime I can :)

Best bang for the buck short ram is the MAC intake kit. Other short ram kits I sell include Steeda, AEM, and K&N. All good products.

The only full length CAI kits I sell are AEM and the NOPI "AEM Clone" kits.

Then there's Volant, very popular among Focus owners. Sort of a hybrid, cone filter enclosed in a box.

Sorry I don't sell eBay junk ! And looking at that kit you found on eBay, they are attaching an electric "supercharger" to it, basically a fan. I'd stay really far away from that...

Please hit my website for current prices, get right to all the Focus kits that's here:

Hope that helps.

which is going to get me better horsepower? full length CAI, or a short ram, i realize a short ram is pulling in more "hot" air, but the problem i have now is , i cant find a replacement air filter and the one i havew on it is shot to hell. i believe its a 2.5 inch pipe and i have tried many filters, and all of them are too big. any ideas there? i am eyeing the short ram MAC intakes, but i am not for sure if i will be happy with it, by the way, what is the pipe size on that intake?? thanks!

The MAC kit uses a 3" tube.

If you need a filter with a 2.5" opening, that shouldn't be real hard to find. K&N, AEM, just about everyone makes a cone filter with 2.5" openings. Just a matter of finding one the correct length to fit your engine bay area. K&N put their various replacement filter specs on their website, http://www.knfilters.com/universal/universal.htm

Which makes more HP ? A full length will make more power, but probably not a huge amount more on a 4cyl... When I had my 01 ZX3 I ran 3 different intakes at the 1/4 mile track, Iceman, MAC and AEM. Honestly, one didn't seem a whole lot different from the other. So $ for $, I'd go with the MAC.
