Ford Focus 1.4 Zetec lights help

Hi, i have a ford focus 2001 3 dr 1.4 zetec, an whilst changing my light bulbs i've noticed a change in the intensity of the lights, it is now a lot dimmer, so to check the sidelights,i put in the the 4 bulb led's, and only half of them light up which mean's to me that only half the power is getting to the bulbs, the same is happening with my normal beam, the only beam that seems to be working fine is the max beam the one where you flash at people to let them through. I have tried checking all of my fuses but i have had no luck in finding out what is wrong with them, have my connecters burn't out? or what can i do to fix this problem as it is causing poor visibility at night times. Thanks

Eric

the side marker bulbs probably have a defect in them. If only half the lights light up, thats not half the power, it means that only two bulbs are getting power.

the most likely thing is the contacts are screwed up.

take all the lights out, clean the contacts (unhook the battery first), smear dialectric grease in the contacts, then replace the bulbs.

that should help.

Let's see if this is correct-

1) The lights were good
2) You changed the lamps
3) The lights were dim afterwards.

Not to be rude, but you might want to check behind yourself very carefully. As far as getting to the contacts on the H-4 receptacle, use a knife or small flat head screwdriver, and put the contact grease on lamp side of the connector before installing. Windex works very well as a corrosion remover.
