Check to see what tires they're running on. Run the car hard and make sure the clutch still bites pretty good. Open up the dash and check what PCM code is listed on the silver module. If equipped, verify the amp and sub are still intacted. Those are some things I found funny with the SVTs I've come across, so be sure to check that and just normal wear and tear on the car.

I drove an SVT Focus that a dealer had that was missing the amp and sub, running on original tires, clutch was slipping and on the verge of going out completely, and the dealership was asking $15.5k for the car when past warranty. I just laughed at the dealer and told him his car wasn't worth more than $9k, but I'm sure someone won't know what's wrong with the car and pay more than they should.

When a car goes to a dealership shortly after the limited warranty is up, I would do a good inspection over the TSB items related to the car to verify the previous customer didn't pass on the car with its errors because the warranty expired.

What's the year of the car and asking price?

Um.. don't listen to him, your are buying a used car that has a shaky reailiblity history at best, you might want to think twice before you actually turn down the extended warranty. Noting is worst then a car payment and a repair bill in the same month.
