my poor zx3 :(

yesterday i aparantly took a corner too fast for conditions and nailed a curb really bad and screwed up my front driver's side wheel. the wheel rammed into the fender and mangled that up, and it's not drivable. i dont really know anything about cars, but the tow truck driver said the A-frame was screwed up? Does anyone know what exactly he's talking about? also the whell is chipped and broken around the edge.

has something similar happened to anyone? anyone know how much it might cost to fix?

Well if the frame is bent you can pretty much kiss that car good bye. I bent the frame on my old Tacoma and insurance deemed the truck totaled.

Bending the frame on a truck and bending an A-arm on a car are not EVEN close to the same thing. A-arms are completely replaceable, but replacing a truck frame would require disassembling the entire vehicle.

A bent A-arm will not total a car.

Depends on what else is screwed up besides just the A-arm, and if that is indeed what's wrong. I don't really have any idea of Ford part prices, but Hyundai part prices I know. I'm guessing, and I do mean GUESSING, because I doubt Ford and Hyundai are priced andwhere near the same...

OEM fender: $200-250, not including paint work. If they can fix it without replacing it, it might be cheaper.
A-arm: somewher in the neighborhood of $200 maybe, not including labor to replace it and whatever else is wrong under there. A-arms usually don't get damaged without having other damage too.
Wheel: assuming it's steel and not aluminum, I'd say about $150 to $200.

So, yeah, this could be a thousand dollar issue pretty easily.

actually oem fenders are just over a hundred plus paint, depends where you look.
a-arm, bushings, ball joint around 200 or a tad bit more. if the rim or tire are screwed figure about 150 for a new rim and the cost of a tire.
hop on over to your local junkyard, should be cheaper and might even find the fender in the same color....never know

I had the same damage to my focus and it was about 500 bux for the suspension parts fender and paint.

Let this be azn expensive lesson that your cars isnt a ferrari and the crazy driving need be saved for auto-x or a track.

Talk to walkboardJL He did the same thing in the snow with his SVT and everything with a bent a arm was around 6500 for parts and labor...they had to replace the hole front driver side of the car.... then again he didnt go to the cheapest place in town...IMO i would rather pay i little bit more to make sure i got a good repair and i dont have to keep going back because something wasnt done right

Good luck to u and like others said KEEP THE SPEED ON THE TRACK
