dream setup

if you could tune a us spec focus, what would be your dream setup, heres mine:

body of an 04 sedan , drop in a turbocharged and tuned D23 (with all the bolt-ons) use the SVT 6-sp getrag tranny with a quaife LSD, eibach coilovers, svt euro rims, recaro seats, a custom fabed roll cage.

as far as appearance goes i'd want an RS body kit, and the SAP1 wing from the new us ST's.

no ICE, thats for people who like to be in their cars, not drive them.

this would be setup for auto-x and wheel to wheel racing

oh what a dream

as far as power goes i'd like to put about 230HP to the ground

I think Id basically take any body style.

Make the engine have the same power and revs and complete feel as a BMW 3.0L I6 and make it RWD with push button Awd and Id be happy as a pig in heat.

OH and make sure it has HID's with halos and a panoramic sunroof. Ill take mine in the new Dark torador red or Sonic blue plese! :)

Salvage or cheap/worn MKI ZX3 with the 2.3 as a starting point

Driveline
D3 Cosworth engine
Dry-sumped with a custom lightweight subframe to lower the engine, along with all necessary half-shaft work
Lightweight aluminum radiator
Relocated Oddessy lightweight battery (to behind front seats)
Long-tube headers with R/T cat and Hypillauto exhaust
Poly bushings
Lightweight accessories (alternator, water pump, etc) with lightweight underdriven pulleys
Lightweight Flywheel and CM small-diameter clutch pack
Lightweight internals
Stand-alone engine management with switchable maps for street and race gas.
Lightweight gears, with a shorter 6th gear.
(All internal components shot-peened and/or cryo-treated)
Keep the A/C and heater to make it possible to drive year round.

SUSPENSION
Moton or Ohlins remote-reservoir coilovers (corner weighted of course)
Lightweight aluminum A-arms
Camber plates up front, camber bolts our back
CCW custom lightweight 17x8 wheels for the track
Kinesis 17x7s for the Street
Stoptech or AP brake setup (fully floating, aluminum hats, slotted cryo-frozen rotors, SS lines, high-temp fluid, adjustable brake distribution)
Hoosier A6s/R6s for the track
Yokohama A048s for Street
Rose joints in place of bushings (or aluminum where appropriate)
Whatever sway bars would be appropriate for the setup…
All of it anally and scientifically analyzed and developed on track and street with Data Acquisition equipment

Chassis
Ridiculously well-planned and executed mandrel-bent roll-cage (made street-driving friendly by eliminating the high bars up front and also as well concealed as possible).
Double-thickness floor and chassis panels in strategic locations (like at the joints and at the roll-cage points)
Generally braced, gusseted, triangulated, and swiss-cheesed to hell and back. Easily the best part for me.

Body
SVT body parts done in CF. As many as I can get or make. Target weight of under 2200 pounds. Then painted in a factory color to look utterly unremarkable.
Rolled or widened fenders to accommodate 8” wide tires.
Sealed (to prevent scratches) and lightweight Lexan windows.

Interior
Relatively quick release seat rails to facilitate easy switching from street to race seats.
Kirkey Aluminum or Sparco 1-piece CF seat for racing
Recaro (cloth) chair for street driving and the front passenger.
No rear seats (as if anything could fit back there around the roll cage.)

1 extremely good lawyer on retainer for the inevitable tickets.

1 painful moment of realization that this would add up to easily over $50K in mods, and that I could have built something far faster with the same $$$. This is why this car would never ever happen…

OK - just thinkin' out loud...

Take my wagon, give it about a 3" suspension lift, add four wheel drive, a turbo, some knobby tires, off-road lights and a wire roof cargo carrier.
....Oh. I think I just built a Subaru Forester XT.
Sorry.

Thanks guys. There's actually a lot more detail than that, but those are the highlights. Honestly the part that keeps me giggling just thinking about it is the chassis development. If I had to put an SPI engine in to finance the rest of the suspension and chassis, I'd do it without a second thought.
