tell me about your Focus's reliability

I'm considering buying a Focus (07 ZX4 SE) and I've been told they "fall apart". Like literally fall apart, door handles coming off and stuff.

So I want to ask you guys how your car is doing and if there are any common issues.

I'll probably be owning the car for 5-6 years and don't want any major headaches.

I live on rough roads, but I am getting ready to replace my third set of rear wheel bearings. Oh, and the car has 50k miles on it.

Let's see, complete suspension replaced. The factory cd player was sent in two times. ( i finally decided to blow it up at a grenade range). Steering knuckle.
I guess ford was really right, I Would rather spend a few thousand on repairs instead of really cool mods.

Mine has been a paragon of reliability.... oh wait the cruise control is getting fixed on Friday. Besides that, not a single problem in 2 year, 20K miles, and several hundred autoX laps beating the living s*$% out of the car.

Bought mine in May, 2005 and it's the most reliable car I have ever had -- I now have 21,000 miles on it and not a single problem. Much more trouble free than my BMW Z4.

Purchased May 2003, 2.3 liter duratec.
I drive it alot, it has high mileage.

0 Engine/drivetrain problems.
1 broken window crank regulator.

Mobil 1 synthetic oil, and Motorcraft oil filter change every 6,000 miles.
Drive drives like a champ, I love it.

i've had my ST for about a year now. it has 21,500 miles. no engine problems. battery went dead once because of me. i changed the front rotors because i was very hard on them on day at the track. the only thing that went wrong was involved with the interior: passenger seat leather was starting to crack. i think i might have got chemicals on it, but don't tell ford that. i know its simulated leather, but it was kind of joke that it was falling apart. ford replaced it with no hassle. change your oil every 3000 miles and let your car warm up before g around and you should be ok unless you got a dud.
