same, it took me 10 minutes and they wanted to charge 150. all you have to do is drop the dome light and you see the antena base/connector

Dear god, I can't believe they bill that as 1.5 hours? I replaced mine too, cost about $8.12 for the part, and less than that amount of time to lose the old and install the new!

Maybe Ford suggests their Techs remove the headliner to access the mount's base?

They don't actually go by "time". I'm not sure on EXACTLY how it works, each place operates differently, but it would go something like this:

Removing dome light: 15 minutes
Replacing the antenna base (plus the cost of the new one): one hour
Re-installing dome light: 15 minutes

One of my friends took his Taurus to Pep Boys to have the heater core replaced, and they billed him one hour for every step. It ended up costing him a small fortune.

Back in the day (20 yrs ago), I worked part time in a little garage a friend owned. He actually had a book that assigned prices to jobs. Don't know if they still do that today.

Unless under warranty, there is NO WAY I would bring my car to a dealership for work. I dont care how many awards, medals, plaques, Emmys or Oscars the dealership has. Their hourly cost is way too high. I'll stick with my friends garages.
