2006 Nissan Altima SE-R

In my conquest of reasearching all types of cars this one has recently caught my eye. I never really researched it much and have never seen one out on the road. I am very impressed with it as it has a really roomy interior (great for my growing family) and a sporty low key exterior. The interior is somewhat luxery but still has a sporty edge to it. 350Z accesory gauges (useless though) and a Nissan Skyline based rear suspension. 0-60 times are about 6.1 so it woudn't be much slower then the STi I have now. Gojng from AWD back to FWD is kind of dissapointing but FWD isn't so bad and can get me through snowy conditions just as well (my wifes ZX2 was a beast in the snow).

The nearest dealership still has one in stock and it was in the color I wanted (Smoke) as well as fully loaded so i thought what the hell and asked for a quote. They quoted me $27,000 which is close to $2K off the invoice and $4K off the sticker price!!! So I went down and checked it out today....nice...VERY nice. The only things that needed to be changed is the Neon like wheels and the exhaust tips were pretty damn big.

Just interested in what some people thought about the car as well. Any replies, gripes, complaints are welcome. I like reading the replies because some things are mentioned that I never really thought about. Thanks guys and gals for any responses!!

It is nice, but I prefer 6-speed over an auto-stick.

i still think you should get a mazdaspeed 6, or the subaru legacy, it has everything you want plus simialr to your sti, youll still have awd, great performance and great quality, but youll also have plenty of space for the kids. The MS6 is very nice, i sat in one and it has plenty of room in the back. The Altima 3.5 SE-R is nice, but performance wise its not much better then the regular SE, plus look at that front wheel gap lol

^^^^totally agree. not enough difference between the se-r and the other 3.5 altimas in my opinion. mazdaspeed 6 or legacy gt would be a much better choice.

Nissan sales are down across the US... barter barter barter!!!

Play the dealers off each other and you'll get a super great deal. Best of luck no matter what you get, Nissans usually do very well in accidents, but I don't know much about this particular model.

interesting....I didn't know Nissans were down in sales but this particular lot had a shit load of 2.5 Altimas. The problem with trying to barter the deales off on each other is that this is the only smoke colored SE-R around. I like the red one but nissan doesn't even have that color available anymore and the other 2 colors are silver and black which I have kind of strayed away from. I will still play the game though and see what kind of deal I can get. Thanks for the input everyone!!

have a friend with a 04 altima...
and another with 04 6...
they copete with each other..
there is no car that can compete with the altima in its class...
best bang for the buck...

well..
maybe the fusion.. its cheaper but have a "weaker" engine...(the v6 3.0)
