Ford Daily news: Hybrid Sales Up, New Features, AFA

Ford has 3 news today and one more coming
[ing]http://media.ford.com/images/thumb%5Cnews/main_050206.gif[/img]
1) Hybrid sales in April are more than double of Mthose in march thanks to some incentives and of course Gas prices ..
SOURCE: http://media.ford.com/article_displa...&make_id=trust

2) Following the unhappy results of the Fusion carsh tests, Ford is beefing up their standard equipment, especially in the area of safety. It was already announced Fusion will ger side airbags standard, not Edge will get all of their goodies in the base price. Fivehundred and Freestyle are next.

SOURCE: http://www.autoblog.com/2006/05/02/f...ety-equipment/

4) Later today Ford will reveal details of its new campaig "bold Moves" as it will debut tonight during Fox's American Idol
SOURCE: Mentioned in the pricing article at DetNews: http://detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/art...605020363/1148

5) The bad news of the day - AFA boycott is actually beefing up and some dealers are starting to feel the pains. However for those knowledgeable, the AFA claims are more and more untrue. Unfortunately, most people do not know and do not care.

God the AFA must not mind looking stupid. They openly admit that they are picking on Ford. have you seen the boycottford.com site? it shows links to things ford sponcers Ex. a clip of without a trace where two girls kiss... What a joke. It is a tv show on primetime where ford wants its commercials. The AFA has to go IMO.

I don't think so,

As the saying goes you gotta pay to play. Meaning they are more worried about horse power then fuel efficiency.

Most ppl who are enthusiasts have grage queens and drive them on weekends and perhaps a few nights during the week.

When was the last time you heard of a Cobra Mustang, Vette, or any other muscle car owner complain about their gas milage?

Loving th news on the hybrids, good for ford, and the edge looks like its going to be a hit, espesically with all that standard saftey equipment. Gt500, finally the number on the side means how much horsepower the car is packin, sweet....but, is this number still underrated??? My guess is that it has 550hp just like the ford GT did.

I do not think so... The engine is slightly different ... however as all blown vehicles... it will be at 600 in no time after driving off the lot.
