I read some articles about the Fit. It weighs about 2500 lbs. and it can fit a K20 engine as well. Mugen has made a SC for it and I like what Spoon and Mugen did to it.

yea, ive seen it in person, at both the autoshow and at my school. Too small for my taste, and the interior is not all that special. The engine compartment is so small, from the fender to the fire wall is like 2 feet lol. Its alright, but like you said not my cup of tea, plus its a honda with 109hp, so what does it have like, 50 ft/lbs of tq. Hopfully this, the versa, and the yaris will spark something, and maybe well see the fiesta or ka over here from ford, which will push the focus up in the market, just like the versa has pushed the sentra up market too, oh the new sentra may look like a little maxima, but its got some pretty sick features, considering its a ecobox compact, check it out youll see what im talking about....for example, you can get one with a phone, with steering wheel mounted controls and voice activation....yea not new but, definitly new to the sport compact world.

"And the Fit has even more to make you smile, like a 109-horsepower, 1.5-liter, VTEC® engine; legendary Honda safety, including standard front, front side and side curtain airbags; plenty of storage compartments; and a super-friendly starting price of $13,850."

really?!? 109 hp?!? Damn that is FAST lol...and all for the price of a focus. interesting. I just don't like how it looks at all

and wow I priced one out if I were to get it...16556. Sorry I'd rather get a focus for cheaper. I put the 16s on there cause they actually look preety nice so I'd keep those if I wanted anything for only 800 bucks.

Atleast the ZX5 looks kinda* cool. The "Fit" looks like a weak minivan.

You want to know the biggest problems I have with the Fit. In order to make it compact, and give it lots of interior space, they used a torsion beam suspension, to help make a flat load floor. To do that, they also moved the gas tank under the front seats. Much as I like Honda's, I'd feel really uncomfortable riding on a gas tank, wouldn't you?

Agreed...and with fuel prices going nowhere but up, I am pretty confident they'll sell very well. Our Toyota store has already moved pretty much every Yaris they've been allocated so far, and I personally think the Fit is a better overall package. I think it'll do well for Honda.

The gas tank being under the front seats doesn't bother me, that's one of the safest places for it to be. Think about it, the whole car is designed to protect the occupants and preserve the integrity of the passenger compartment - so what better place to put the tank than in this "safe" area? I used to have a Toyota MR2, and the gas tank on those is the reason the center console sits so high, because the tank is actually located between the two seats. Never bothered me a bit, because I knew if the car got hit hard enough to do any damage to the tank (which was in the center of the vehicle from front to back and side to side) I was probably already dead anyway.

I like the Fit, but I wouldn't ever buy one thinking in terms of "mods" - it would be for a cheap, reliable commuter car that gets good gas mileage and has the dead-nuts reliability of a Honda.
