Sadly selling the SVT

So it hurts me to say this, but I'm selling the SVT to one of our local dealerships. I have babied this car for so long and it sucks that its going tomorrow. I tried selling it to an individual who would appreciate it, but alas, it has come to the dreaded dealership. The only good things that are to come of this are:

1)No more monthly car note of $400
2)More money to mod "Project 350" which includes dropping a 350 V8 in my S10
3)Some of my SVT mods to the wife's ZX3

Its so weird driving the car stock like I bought it. It seems like it has no pickup now and that its not really that fast anymore. I really hate to see it go. I hate even more that the damn dealer is going to charge someone atleast $15k for the car....I say atleast because our local Honda dealer sold an 02 SVTF with 27k miles with a junkyard motor for $15k. I'll have to post what those bastards try to sell my car for. Enough ranting now. Wish me luck and hope that I don't cry when I sign the paperwork.

well, it seems that since your crying so much you dont really want to do it. So why dont you get rid some of the other cars like the s10 and the zx2. Plus gas is sorring up so maybe shoving a v8 in the s10 isnt a good idea. I dont know man, i wouldnt get rid of my newest car and keep ones that are older, just doesnt seem logical to me b/c your getting rid of probably your most reliable car.

Yeah, but I'm a mechanic at Ford so I make all my cars realiable. Plus, working at Ford has its advantages...whenever I need a loaner car, all I have to do is ask my service manager and they'll hook me up with one. In the event that something major happens to one of the cars, I get a loaner car for free until its fixed.

The 350 in the S10 is pure joy. Its only a toy and not meant to be driven daily, so gas isn't a concern...otherwise I would have left the 1.9L four cylinder and four speed tranny in it.

I just got back from selling it. It sucked. I hate to see my baby go and all the damn salesman lurching around it. Oh well. I'll post what they try to sell it for...should be good for a laugh or two.

Hmmm...remember that the "damn dealer" and "bastards" who you work for, are the one's who make a profit so they can pay you and all their other employees. Does your service department not make a profit on their work ? How do you think YOU get paid ? ...You ALWAYS have the option of selling a car on your own. Why gripe about how things are done (they buy at wholesale and sell at retail), when you could have hung out and sold it on your own ? It's not usually wise to bite the hand that feeds ya, you know ? Just my 2 cents.

Its ok...the dealer that I sold the SVT to, isn't the one that I work at.
