I want to buy a second car in the next couple years. The AE86 made it on my short list. It's a very nice car, and the AGE engine is sweet. I say, go for it!

Seconded. I havent driven one, for some reason 20 year old corollas don't grow on trees, but if I had the money (I don't) and could find one for a reasonable price (I can't), I'd think real hard about it myself.

1000 might be high unless its in damn fine shape. Given their rarity, my RWD toy would likely be a 240SX instead, they DO grow on trees.
