solar exhaust fans

Remember a few years back when Mazda offered this on one of there cars (either mx-6 or 626 can't recall which)? They had fans that used solar energy to cycle fresh air into the cabin while it was parked. It seemed like a great idea to me- but i haven't seen it on any other cars. I was just wondering if anyone knew why this vanished. When i get into my car on a 90 degree day i sometimes find myself thinking about how sweet it would be to have those little solar fans pulling the hot air out of my ride.

I have a friend who does video survielance from a van, and they use something similar to what your talking about. They do work a lot better than leaving the windows open a crack.
