GTP's have amazing potential. they are only a pully and exhaust away from high 13's- low 14's

yeah they are big but there is alot to do for them and they can be extremely fun.

no offense, but why did you buy a Benz?

I worked at Benz for a year, and all of then have problems, mostly electrical too.....

hope yours is a good one.

and a 99 S500 is an OVER 6,000lb vehicle with only a V8 in it...they are in my opinion the biggest floaty bricks on the planet (the same thing as Princess Di was in when she died.....)

how the heck did that thing even get to 130mph?........

I would of thought that the GTP would have had you....and I think the GTP's limiter is higher than 115....

personally I think the GTP has some good potential, just not setup right from the factory.....like JRODSVT said, tune it and throw in a better pulley, and a full exhause and its good ....

Probably bought it because he didnt think the Focus was expensive enough to insure.

I don't really know spit about the GTP, I kinda lump all those big saloons into one catagory, I'd rather have the Benz and I might well never go past half throttle, just cruise and enjoy the scenery.

I dont think I could stomach owning either yet, I'm not nearly old enough for something that huge.

It is higher than 115, I had taken mine a lot faster than that. Yes, GTP's do have a lot of potential. When I had mine I swapped the stock 4" pulley to a 3.4", CAI and a custom exhaust along with a re-programed ECU and let me tell you, that damn car would fly! Mustang GT's didn't stand a chance and I could take stock LS1 cars as well. Don't underestimate a GTP, there is a lot of power to be had there and they can produce some SERIOUS toque!!

BTW, if your friend want's to swap his pulley, he will need a puller, which I have and will sell much cheaper than a new one. I paid $275 for mine, it was made specifically to pull GM blower pulleys.

Also, if he does swap the pulley, tell him NOT to go smaller than a 3.25" without intercooling. Even with the 3.25", it's still pushing the envelope a bit because of the heat produced. Now if he got the intercooler kit, headers, 3" pulley, CAI, cat-back and a re-programed ECU, he would have a friggin MONSTER!!! Can you say "bye bye Mr. Cobra"? LOL

First off, grammar and punctuation are your friend.

Secondly, My brother has an 00' GTP w/ 75000 miles on it. He handed my ass to me twice from a roll.

My bro has an '01 GTP. He needs a decent tune badly, but I think he ran a mid-13 last time at the track (only 2 runs and he didn't know what to do). I think he has done some stuff to it since because he said he whooped a new GTO. I know he's planning on dropping a more aggressive cam in it on Friday... hopefully he didn't get to aggressive cause I know he cannot afford a new tranny!
