ouch...kia delivers a low blow

right from the kia website:

"The 2006 Kia Spectra5.

Poised and ready to hit the road. With its cool looks, sporty performance, loads of standard features and class-leading safety equipment, the Spectra5 has got it all.

The responsive 2.0-liter DOHC delivers more horsepower than the Toyota Matrix or Ford Focus* and the sport-tuned independent suspension with front and rear stabilizer bars gives you tight handling and an exhilarating ride.

To make sure you look the part, the Spectra5 comes standard with a front and rear spoiler, fog lights, side sills, metal pedals, roof-mounted antenna and those must-have 16" alloy wheels.

And don't forget about Kia's industry-leading 10 year/100,000 mile warranty program plus 5 years of 24-hour roadside assistance.

Versatile, sporty and affordable. It's easy to see why the Spectra5 is miles ahead of the competition. "

the spectras are the only kias a i like...thats why i was lookin at their site

Oh god a whole TWO more horsepower. Of course they dont tell you this!!

KIA Spectra5: Curb Weight
Five-speed manual: 3,005 lbs.
Four-speed automatic: 2,903 lbs.

Ford Focus:
Curb Weight: 2632 lbs.

Alittle budgy there isnt this sport compact.

Enough said.

Althought Kias warrenty program basically kicks the crap outta every other companys lol.

Why is the 5-speed car a 100 lbs heavier? That seems to be pretty substantial to me... and yeah, the KIA is on the porky side to start with...

so evil goat.

Ill take a focus over a kia, b/c it still probably wont handle as well and i wouldnt really have a use for a 10year warrenty, im probably only going to keep a car for 5 years, maybe 10 if i really like it, but i certainly wouldnt keep a kia for 10 years lol.....does anyone really keep cars that long these days anyway.

^^My dad has had his 83 mustang since he bought it new. He doesnt think hes ever going to get rid of it or his 01 bullitt.

Kia is coming up in the international market though. They sell pretty cheap, reliable cars that get pretty damn good gas mileage. They may not be the sportiest or fastest 2.0 DOHC, but most girls, or people who would buy it, would drive it dont really care about that.

KIA and Hyundai are basically the same company. I've had Hyundai for 6 years now. Bad experience my friends. During the first year I had to change the whole engine because of some recall. A month ago, I had to change the engine block because it was cracked, I also had to change valve rings (or was i piston rings - not sure) because it was eating oil. I've had check engine light for 5 monts now - nobody can find out wtf is wrong with it. All their little stupid machines that are supposed to find out what is wrong are just crap I guess. One day I'm just gonna start ripping wires off and connecting them randomly...

Anyway, I wouldn't buy a KIA or Hyundai anymore...even though their warranty is good. But I'd rather have a car without warranty that DOESN'T brake many times a year, than a car with warranty that breaks every month...
