08 Fivehundred and 08 mercury MetaOne(?), 09 Mustang HardTop (?)

A few pics have been floating around of nose-jobed Five Hundred but BlueOvalNews.com has MANY of them.. so here they are.. Moreover they scored pics of Mercury version of the Freestyle. There was also a pic of a Montego with a camo.
HTe implications are that they get the 3.5 V6 and one of the better informed members over at FJ claims V8 "likely".

Finally I cought a rumor of a hardtop Mustang...read all below.

Igor

-------------------------------------
Secondly, IT SEEMS MERCURY IS GETTING A VERSION OF FREESTYLE... .So long MetaOne dream... it looks like a freestyle with montego nose.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Ford PLEASE Kille the Ford freestryle in the process... do not let the Meta one dream die completely... let the Freestyle before Mercury explusive.. with its sale numbers it wil lfit there well. and $1000 higher pricetag can buy nicer interior and other niceties to fight the Caddi XRS and Pacifica.

---------------------------------
MORE PICS of both cars: http://www.blueovalnews.com/index.ph...17_sectionid=7

----------------------------------------------------------
Finally, LeftLaneNews reports on a rumor that one of Ford's responses to the competiiton of Challenger and Camaro will be making the 09 Mustang convertible a hardtop..09 Mustang should also be an ALL NEW Mustang

LLN does caution that this came from a single source, and was unverfied as of yet.

hmm interesting, but how much extra weight would the hard top convertable add to the mustang, and how much space would it take more up of then the traditional cloth top? Im sure many of you know i love the mustang but after riding in my friends mustang and my other friend getting miata i was really lookin into getting a roadster. I really dont like the way the new mustang convertables look. But depending on how much weight it adds and how much space it takes up I may think about getting one, b/c thats pretty sick and normally not found on inexpensive cars, besides the g6 and until recently.

^^^That is the idea... it makes hte stang more exclusive.. it also makes it all year useable for nothern states....

etc.. etc..

but it IS heavier and more expensive.... but for Europeans it is usually worth it.. after all not all of us live inFlorida or Cali and/or can buy a summer car.

And FINALLYthis is by no way confirmed.. LLN cittes a single source that is obviously not on their fully trusty source...so the mustang news is not confrmed at this point..

The Five Hundred and "MetaOne" seem like done deals. BTW I really like the Five Hundred lights... look very classy...I just hope they work a little bit on the interior to make it more upscale and inviting.

there has been no sighting of redesigned Freestyle [wink].... also the original plan was to kill the freestyle and give it to Mercury as Meta One..

At one point that was scrapped in favor of redesigning Freestyle in the direction of the Fairline concept, and not give this vehicle to any other brand.

Ford has been tightlipped about future... not much is known, and it seems a lot of past plans have been axed, or at least alterred, and not many people seem to admit to know these developments, so forums and such do not know much at this point.
