Help Choosing My Exhaust

Well.....

I want to put an exhaust on my 2004 FOrd FOcus SE....But, i dont want one that sounds like it is a rice burner. I want a nice mellow tone....The guy at my freinds shop told me to put a magnaflow with 2.25" pipe on it...they would start the new pipe after the catalytic Converter....So is 225.00 a good price, and i want a good exhaust head, but i dont want a black mark on my bumper from the exhaust, or will it do that??????

I need your help please

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE :-)

I have magnaflow. It has about a 3.5 or 4" tip (what your calling the head). I have a red car and it has yet to leave the black mark on my bumper. It is a nice deep tone and it gets to its full loudness at about 2800 rpm to about 3300 depending on how hard the throttle is pressed. Borla is also a good exhaust from what I have heard. So is Focus Sports Stealth exhaust. All are somewhere around the same price. Search around the fourms and there are sound clips of each. I havent heard borla, but I have heard the focus sport and it too sounds deep and throaty.

yeah i would say the Focussport Stealth (it is only the muffler so the shop would have to do cumstom pipeing)..well they wouldnt have to, but you should have them do it..
225 for the pipeing only? that is a little expensive down in so cal, but i dont know about in lancaster, i paid 145 for my pipeing..

I got the cat-back from steeda for like $330 after taxes if i remember right. Install is stright foreward once you cut the pipe to remove the stock exhaust system. There are also some people who buy flowmaster delta 40 mufflers and have a muffler shop do custom piping (if the shop does a bad job this muffler can make the car sound worse than magnaflow, etc.)

the magnaflow will sound really quite nice as long as you leave your cat on the car... take it off and all hell breaks loose.
