Which Focus to Buy???

Hi everybody im new,
i tried to search but couldnt find the answers i am looking for. right now i am between a couple cars and was thinking maybe to buy a focus as they are quite cheap compared to the wrx i first had my eyes on. what i need to know is what is the differances between models. like how much faster is the svt over the zx3 and is it worth the extra money, anyone know any stock horsepower/torque numbers on a zx3 and a svt??? thanks in advance.

the standard zx3 has some 130 hp... unles you find a 03 or 04 2.3l zx3 - they have soe 145hp
There was a 110hp version of Focus, but I believe that engne was not offered on the ZX3

05+ models have a different engine, but it seems you are looking at older models.

the SVT has 170hp.. it is worth quite a bit more than regular zx3 if it is what yo uare looking for... it is simply much more oriented towards performance.. but it is more exclusive and has quite a few things that do not come stock on zx3....

However I believe the svt foci are more prone of be a bad apple requiring more maintenance and such...

well compared to civic we have more torque.. soem 130 ft/lb .. civic is usually high hp/low torque.

go to http://autos.msn.com/research/vip/de...del=Focus#used

and see al the numbers....
and the SVT issues seem to be "particular car -related" .. not all SVT's have issues... many do not ... but some are just trouble. or so it seems... I am far from an SVT expert.

Honestly, the 130 stock tq and hp is pretty good. Go and test drive one, its the best way to determine which one you like. If you are somebody looking for performance/handling/comfort, the focus is a pretty good cross between all of those. The back seat has more room than my dads bigger 01 mustang. The wrx's are nice w/ 4 wheel drive and an offered 2.5 turbo, but they are heavier and alot more expensive. The SVTs are really nice, but as stated they can have many issues because their motors are tuned pretty high. SVTs only come in stick (dont know if thats what your looking for or not). If your looking for a good, reliable daily drive the focus is a good way to go.

honestly in my opinion I would buy the WRX. Sure its a little more expensive but well worth the money. So yeah that's my opinion. BUY THE WRX. If you choose not buy buy the ZX3 2.0 Zetec 130 HP model. Its cheaper to modify and there are more tunning options available for it. Yet and still between the focus and the WRX I would take the WRX anyday.
