The past couple of days, i've actually had the same problem. It was right after starting it, the engine shook really bad and acted like it was missing, but it cleared up within secs though. My boss told me it might be the automatic choke or something was stuck open for a sec and it takes a bit to adjust after starting it. Didn't know it had a choke being that it was fuel injection. I have had the typical idling rough and shakin betweein start and up until it gets all the way hot. I knew that was a common thing for the focus, whether it is a spi or a zetec. I've been told that the pzev will be better on that issue. As far as the engine just stopping, i'm not sure. It could be many things causing that. You can start with the plugs and wires and see if it helps. How many miles do you have on it? Is it still under warranty? I'm sure others might have better advice.

Yea, you never can go wrong replacin the plugs and wires, sure won't hurt it any. Let me know if that helps. If not and if it's that big of a problem, then I would suggest carry it to the dealer before the warranty goes out. I know they most likely won't find anything wrong knowing the dealer, but I guess it doesn't hurt to try either.

Joel,
I'd run a good fuel system cleaner to if you haven't done so in a while.
