~$900 per year ($100 deductable collision, $0 deductable comprehensive), State Farm, 60.
Actually discussions of the costs of insurance are meaningless as there are too many variables: age of driver, geographic location, driving record, number of insured vehicles, length of time with the insurer. I have been with the same insurer for 30+ years and insure 5 cars at this time. The insurance on all my vehicles is less than what you pay for your Focus.

State Farm here too. 44, clean record, only one recent minor speeding ticket in the past 7 years. $1464 a year, for my car, full coverage on my motorcycle and homeowners coverage.

CSAA, full coverage, $1,100 - $1,200 for 12 months. I'm 28.

How can you even afford to pay $6,000 a year for insurance?

well considering that every city of every state has different insurance rates your going to get a different rate all the time, plus your driving record will effect your rate too so it will be impossible to match your annual cost to anyone else. All insurance company go on the same rate in Mass so one insurance company cant be cheaper then the other.

QFT. Best thing to do is take all your info and price-shop, get quotes from other companies. Clearly 6k a year is a lot, it's not a somewhat normal number that may be similar to what others are paying. I'd call up agents starting like, tomorrow.

I've got Safeco, they were reasonably priced. I had Progressive before them, they had the best quote when I had more tickets on my record, I was ok with them too. Keep in mind I never filed any claims with either, perceptions can change with that, I'm sure. Also, in case it matters - 1400 a year, 23 y/o female, at least 1 ticket on record, maybe more.

and do not forget that your credit score also figures in on how much you pay.
