Porsche buying a decent amount of VW

Well i love Porsche and i decided the other day to pick up a copy of the newest issue of Excellence, for those of you who dont know this is a magazine dedicated to Porsches. In it there was a very interesting article, i didnt read the whole thing but i skimmed through and it seems that Porsche is planning on buying 20% of the VW company. Someone let me know if this is old news or any updates on this if you have them.

In other porsche news both the new 911 turbo and 911 Gt3 will be coming out very soon.

The 997 911 turbo will have a turbocharged 3.6l horizontal 6 which will put out 480hp and 460lb/ft of tq. And of course all that power will be put to the ground by all four wheels just as before. This is the new surprise though, since before most porsche enabled with their tiptronic S transmission would rob a discraful 5-6 tenths of a second to 60. But in the new 911 turbo the Tiptronic S rockets it to 60 in 3.4s where as the traditional 6 speed manual does 0-60 in 3.7s....interesting. And of course expect a top track speed of over 190mph. Expect to get over 20mpg with both transmissions......ooo 0-60 in sub 4 seconds and the ability to get 20mpg, hottness.

The new 997 GT3 will sport the same 3.6l engine as you may find in the 911 S but is tuned up to 415hp and 300lb-ft of tq. It has a nice curb weight of 3,075 lbs and will be rwd with a 6speed manual. Top track speed of over 190mph, 0-60 in 4.1seconds, 0-99 in 8.7(uhh wow it hits 100 before i even hit 60...so sad).

If you wanna see pictures of them, go to www.porsche.com and look them up yourself haha. Both look very ta****l and the new 997 Turbo looks alot more refined and better since they decided to ditch the uneeded size of grill inlets that the 996 version had.
