Good link!

F-Series up but Ford Trucks/SUVs in general on a downward trend. Land Rover seems to be on a real tear though!

The Fusion/Milan/Zephyr triplets are bringing good numbers...

It looks like a lot of people that didn't buy the Focus in 06, bought the Fusion, good choice.

my comments:

Ford promised to reduce fleet sales.. I believe they are not selling as many Foci to fleets anymore - chence the lower numbers

Second, look at Navigator and MarkLT.. 1k each.. I did not expect as many... there still seems to be huge market for luxury SUV/Trucks

I like the Fusion trio numbers.

I am quite upset about Volvo, but do not know what is going on..

Overall.. a happy camper

Hey igor, you forgot the third reason why the new Focus isn't selling anymore. Because the 2005 redesign is boring as sin. The Focus used to have character. I'm sure it still drives like a Focus, which is wonderful in the economy car class. But both the interior and exterior redesign is so boring I think most economy car shoppers are walking right by the Ford dealership to the Honda or Toyota dealership. I guess the thinking is, if you're going to be buy a boring looking economy car, at least buy one with fantastic reliability, safety, and fuel economy, none of which the Focus can lay claim to. The 2004 and earlier models I think most shoppers were able to overlook those things because it was such a great, unique looking vehicle, but not anymore.

Ford is letting the Focus die a slow death because they are clueless. No more SVT, and a vanilla looking sedan replacement. No Euro Focus platform like the Mazda 3 (which is a great car in my opinion) and a design team who should be shot for the 2005 redesign. And no plans for the future to do anything with the car as far as I can tell. Way to go Ford, one of the best vehicles you've ever manufactured and you completely blow it. The Way Forward, more like the Way Backward.

2% increase in car sales is good, but not as much as expected with the new model launches. Ford has already projected declining sales for this year - it's gonna take time to get a lot of people to even drive to a Ford lot and look at the new vehicles offerings. I hope the Fusion and Milan start catching on now that there are a few on the streets though. The Zephyr, unfortunately, is now a one-year nameplate and seen by many as an overpriced wanna-be luxo Fusion - I don't have much hope for that.

Honestly, though I drive an '06 ST, I know what 007 is saying. I liked the olde exterior a lot, but the new one isnt so bad. The new taillights on '05+ ZX4's is better, but otherwise, it's kinda bland. What I didn't like was the old interior, it was just to uncohesive for my taste.

No doubt about the new Focus being less appealing to buyers. But plese read more in the Car Chat before talking about situation at Ford.. there are lots of rumors about Focus right now.. and the last thing Ford is doing is letting it die.. It is not clear yet what will actually happen, but stuff is happening, because both Bill Ford (FoMoCo CEO) and Mark Fields (Ford NA President) were heard to be quite upset at the 2005 redesign and the decreased of appeal of the marquee..

Sorry, I get a little defensive when despite numerous accounts of high level of activity arounf the issue of Focus, people blame ford for still just planing to go Cavalier on Focus... They fell asleep, but there is stuff going on and they say they are working and and fast to fix it.. we shall see the result I believe next year. I just hope the energy they show about the issue gets translated into the actual product.

Anyways.. I managed to jack my own thread...

Back on topic kiddies.

igor, I'll believe it when i see it. And right now I don't believe it.

That's okay, great cars like the Mazda 3 are there to pick up the slack. And even though the new Mazdaspeed 3 will have too much hp/torque in a FWD car for my tastes, it's obvious Mazda has a clue. I read the press report today about the new Mazdaspeed 3, and it is going to be a fantastic pocket rocket. I suspect it will completely dominate the sport compact scene when it hits. Where is the SVT Focus to compete? Nowhere to be seen. But take a look at what Ford gives Europe and you'll want to slit your wrists.
