What would you do?

Ok, so I'm going to school at the moment to be a BMW tech, so ofcourse I want to buy one, not just to drive but so I have something to work on while I'm in school. I've been doing some research, and I want to get a 95-99 M3 (I'd get a 00-03 model but I cant afford one). In terms of handling, and general power, it seems to be way more modifiable than my SVT...more expensive, but still more modifiable. I'm still undecided in the matter, as I still like my SVT. But my question is, if you were in my shoes, would you keep your Focus, or go for the Bimmer?

Bimer's are sweet but it'll cost a lot to keep it maintained. Especially an M3. But then again you are becoming a BMW Tech so youl just be able to fix it all yourself. If you can afford it, go for it!

I just started college, and changed my major from Radiologic Tech to BMW Tech, so I'm just doing my pre-req's for the course right now and will start next semester. I'm taking the ASE certification test within the next couple of months for engine diagnostic and repair. I dont work for BMW yet though, I'm gonna go through a couple semesters and see if I can go on co-op or something and get some credits while I get some expierience (and a foot in the door for when I'm out of school). Do you work for BMW now? What do you get paid? And also, what ASE's do you have out of curiosity?

im in a community college tech school, ASE in Brakes and Engine Repair and Diagnostic, kids that graduated before my class, were getting offered 17-19 dollars flat-rate but one student made it into BMW, and they started him at 15 for 3 months of training then moved him to close to 30 and hour flat rate i was just wondering if there was any merit to this claim.<<<all the kids had 6 or more of thier ASE's except the kid that got accepted to BMW he was a Master mechanic and had his L1

30 bucks an hour would be awesome. I'll ask around and see if I can find an answer.

Oh and I wanna get certified in suspensions to.

I'll get them all eventually, I just have no time on my hands to get it done between work and school. As soon as this semester is over I'll have time to do it, since I'm only gonna take one class over the summer.
Oh and good luck with everything.
