06 vw gti and my svt?

My dad just bought an 06 vw gti 6speed today with the 2.0 turbo with 200hp/207ftlbs. Wow is all I have to say. I drove it and my 03 SVT today and they actually seem pretty similar relating to drivablity like handling, ride...but the gti definately has more power and it comes on much quicker. Peak torque hits at 1800rpm and peak hp hits I believe at around 5100. Knowing the SVT tq is no where near that mark and peak hp comes at around 6500?, I don't think I'd win in any race against him except around the twisties. However, the gti does weigh 3300lbs which is quite a bit more than my 3dr SVT. I havn't had a chance to race him yet, but will do so after the gti's break in period. My dad and I racing each other should be interesting to say the least. He'd be stock and I just got an sts and will hopefully be getting the kandn typhoon sri and the Hypnotic Xcal1 or 2 tune. Any thoughts on who would win say to 60 or in the 1/4 mile? I'm just curious.

I'm thinking in a straight line, you'd get spanked pretty good by the GTI..throw some curves into the mix, I think you'll have a good shot.

I don't suppose anyone has actually bothered to look up times? The 2006 GTI is quick but it's not some crazy-fast monster, test times I've seen show it at about 0.4-0.6 tenths of a second faster to 60 and about 0.3-0.7 tenths of a second faster through the quarter mile, when compared to test times for the SVT. I don't know if I'd call that a qualified "crushing" hands down. Faster, yes, but that's far from crushing territory, it's close enough that a mistake or two (or an unwillingness to push his car too hard) on your dad's part could easily even it out.
