dealership scare

ok my CEL is on i took it to autozone and advance and not one could pull a code there testers were even unable to connect to cars computer so i had to take it to ford. well i call and make an appt as soon as they open they tell me to bring it in so i do they they say it will be about 30 mins...30 mins go by now they say that i have to wait until lunch to have it looked at so i call a friend to come pick me up and when they get there my friend smokes reall y fast but we are watching one of the service guys trying to drive someones explorer but its only reving not moving. so they hook a tow truck up to it using only chains to hook to the frame and then the tow truck starts to pull it only the tech in the car has it in gear and is reving the hell out of the explorer and the tow truck is dragging the thing now and the tires arent turning the tires are being drug and the guy has it in reverse trying to get it to drive and its makeing this horrible knocking sound and they do this for about 30 feet. now im scred to even have them look at the car but i really want to know whats wrong. so yes thats my story so far

Sounds like neither Autozone or Advance Auto has the newer code readers that can talk on the new CAN bus.

BTW, Turner's garage will honor Ford factory warranties. They can even order genuine Ford parts. They have been my mechanic of choice for a couple of years now. The owner Wendell Turner is an ex-circle track racing champion.

40 bucks sounds cheap to me. id be more worried about how this affects your warranty in the future.

If I am really understanding you correctly, I would advise two things:

1. RUN, don't walk, from this dealership! As fast as you can!! One of the beauties of owning a Ford is that there are few places in North America that aren't fairly close to at least three Ford dealerships. Unless you live somewhere like Nome, Alaska or Yellowknife, NWT, Canada, SURELY you must have available to you at least ONE alternative to these clowns within a reasonable distance.

2. SLOW DOWN your writing! TAKE CARE! Are you really not capable of composing sentences in the English language any better than this - TERRIBLE grammar, WORSE spelling, no punctuation or capitalization whatsoever? My students from the Peoples' Republic of China, with high school English as a Second Language, write more clearly. Even my nephew, who is afflicted with severe Attention Deficit Syndrome, Dyslexia, and a low-grade form of Autism can compose sentences that are more understandable! If this is really the best that you can do, GET HELP in remedial English! Don't be ashamed. It is not your fault! Clearly, you are just another victim of the American public schools.

But if, as I suspect, you are not functionally illiterate but just lazy (Signature line with correct grammar and spelling, albeit no capitals, no period, but AH... I see a comma!), remember that while your signature line says that one can tell a lot about a man from the way he takes care of his car, one can ALSO tell a lot about a man from the care (or lack thereof) he takes when expressing himself!

No one can see what you look like or hear what you sound like! Your words are all we have! So do you want the online community to form an image in their minds of a reasonably educated, intelligent and articulate Joe, or of an inbred, slope-browed, knuckledragging goober?
