Post Need Honest Opinion

Hey, my name is javier, i'm new here, i'm thinking about getting a sonic blue '02 focus svt with about 80k.

here is where i need help

i have a daughter, she's 19 months, pretty sure she can get in and out pretty easy.

what i'm concern about mainly is the milleage in the car
the price i should pay for it
is there stuff on the car that goes often

i started working at this dealership about 10 days ago, and i saw this svt i drove it around the block, seems fine, i'm waiting on a price, only had one owner, that took care of it, the milleage is because he used to work like half hour from home or something like that.

Wow, that's alot of mileage for an SVT...I wouldn't pay more than 10k for it. Mileage on a stocker SVT should be between 23-27mpg. The car is a bit of an upkeep... i.e. stuff breaks that shouldn't be breaking at early mileage. Things to check for on your SVTf:

New Clutch TSB
Valve Cover Gasket
Basic Tuneup
YRFO Computer Reflash

Thumbs up

thanks for the reply, they're asking like 10.900, but for what i've heard i would be paying somewhere around 8.500 to 9k....

and they were also talking about extended warranty for 2 yr/ 24k

Awesome, snag that warranty for the basic work needed I specified above. Don't pay the 10.9k, go for the sub10k pricing... Good Luck! If you have anymore questions or worries, do not hesitate to post or ask!

Welcome to FF, by the way!!

well since you have a kid i think a 4 door car would be better. Yea and that is alot of miles, and i wouldnt pay more then 10k for it dont even know if id pay 9k for it, you know what i probably would just pass it up even though its my favorite color svt b/c it has that many miles. Think about how much its going to cost, how safe itll be for your daughter and the fact that it only has two doors, you might want easier access to her with 4 doors. Oh and i notice you live on Long Island, you know how people drive around here and how many cars there are all the time, i really wouldnt get the svt, im not saying give up the fun factor and buy a mini-van but you might want something that has 4 doors and be alittle safer for your daugther to ride in. Hope this helps some, maybe keep an eye out for a 4 door svt focus. Also what part of LI are you from?

hey, i used to live in Stony Brook, now i'm in Kings Park, and i'm buying a house with my dad in West Babylon.
anyways, the svt would be for me to go to work, and have a little fun, and i have a mini van that i'm keeping, and maybe once i start doing better at work, i can either trade it in for another one, or maybe even get a 4 door car, as a family car, and for my girl to use when i'm at work....

i'm going to try to get the bottom price tomorrow, also, i might get a plate for the day so i can bring it home and show it to my girl, on the way home, i'll get to beat on it a little to see if still has balls, and if is not the car for me, we have plenty of other fords and non fords that i can get good deals on....
