2007 MKZ / Fusion / Milan - AWD

Ford just released a Press release announcing a push of AWD vehicles, based on rpediction that in the next 6 years AWD and 4WD vehicles will come to make up half of all vehiclessold in the US and Canada.

And the first Wave, Edge and MKX are to be introduced with AWD.. Moreover, for 2007 Fusion, Milan and MKZ will ve offered with AWD system as an option..

a big yupee frome me...

^^^true...the 6speed auto wasnt that bad, actually pretty good for an automatic, bu yea it leaves something o be desired. So will we be seeing an awd focus, or will the focus cease to exist by the time awd is in most of Fords cars.

well if the fusion goes AWD , will that make it poosible to use that system to convert a new focus to AWD ?

No... I believe C170 is incapable of AWD...

Once we upgrade to another platform, I am almost positive it will be somehow offered..

Now other upcoming AWD Fords are of course the new Escape and the EcoSport..but I think Focus will be left out f this one for now..

The S40 is a C1 car with AWD, and there was the possibility of AWD on the Mazda MS3, but that was axed for financial and not engineering reasons.

Yeah but C1 is completely unrelated to C170 engineering wise (i mean C1 was inspired by C170 and Protege platoforms.. and learned from them, but there is not relation of capabilities...).. .C1 IS capable of AWD.. but C170 is not I believe..
