Insurance Pain

UGH! So im getting an SVT...which I am so excited about. The insurance... Not so excited. It has gone up a considerable amount from my current focus to the new one (or any of my 3 fofo for that matter) The combination of being in NJ and having a prior accident is going to be the death of me. But i was wondering if anyone knew from experience if I end up moving to another state would my record be clean? or does the burden follow me around....which im hoping it doesnt. I thank god Im getting a good deal on this SVT otherwise I would not be doing this...

the burden follows you because it is on your driving record. but when i picked up an svt, the insurance was only a $5 a month difference in the rate . it was $215 a month for my zx3, and $220 a month for the svt. That's with american family. and I have a bunch of stuff on my record.

It depends on if the state you're moving to shares information with NJ. For instance, I used to live in Chicago and moved to Arizona and the 2 states do not share DMV info, so my record was cleared. But then I moved to Cali from AZ, and Arizona shares information with CA so my record is the same.

Well im looking at PA or anywhere around here...i cant be that far from my family (corny I know) and hopefully any state will be cheaper than NJ becuase this state is out of control. I just have to figure out what school I want to transfer to first.

dude, I'm 20, was involved in a hit and run like over 3 years ago(obviously I got hit not my fault), and was rear ended like 5 years ago sitting at a stop light(also not my fault, and I pay like over $300 a month insurance on a Ranger. That was after switching comanies too. They wanted to charge me close to $800 a month after that hit and run. I'm getting my focus ST hopefully Thursday but I'm sure my insurance will rise. Go to search, and type in insurance costs. I started a thread a little while ago and I got like 40 responses so you can see what other people are paying.
