Talking do you hide your plate numbers ?

I was browsing around some pics in the gallery, and noticed that alot of people white out there plates in the pics. I have done this myself on a few occasions. then i realized...that my car is out in the parking lot right now with my plates exposed to everyone. Why am I trying to hide my plates in a pic, when the whole world can see my plate numbers when i drive around. who am i fooling ! lmao

I always do that :p

I know that it really doesn't make all that much difference...but i'd just rather not have my license plate shown worldwide...who knows what kind of people are out there looking up info on a person's identity through just the license plate. Identity theft is getting pretty big...and not showing my plates over the internet is just a small step to prevent it.

well, for instance, when reading through a off road pipe thread, that there are people like the police who sometimes go through car forums looking for illegal stuff, not just orps of course. if you have mods listed in your profile or sig, that person can search in that forum and if you've got a pic with your license plate showing then they now have more information than they would care to even know! you don't want to get busted for something like that do you? if you don't have illegal mods, then of course no big deal.

this is just something that i've heard before, i don't know if there are people who actually look to bust us for illegal mods on car forums, but who knows, better safe than sorry. the fine for not having a cat is a couple thousand dollars!!

yeah we post a lot personal information on the posts... between the 3-4 focums I frequent, you cna figure ot exactly where I live, what I drive, where I have been..

I do nothing that would need hiding, but I still do not want people knowing everything... knowing my address and plate numbers just allows one more piece of information...

I see the point with illegal mods and cops finding your car that way...but then again my all the cops here already know my car lol. I dont have illegal mods, and in texas , emmissions are a huge deal. As for a physco comin to get me... lets just say I got a 12 gauge mossberg just itching to see some action
