Focus petition to ford

I found a site that has a petition to ford trying to get them to sell the European C1 focus in the States. Lets help them out and see what can be done, I know its a long shot but you never know if ford gets enough people interested they may consider it. The link to the site is :
http://www.petitiononline.com/focususa/petition.html

We the consumer would like for Ford Motor Company to provide us with a Ford Focus equal to or similar to the Ford Focus of Europe. We are still stuck in the old bland american design while Europe gets all the goodies.

We the consumer here in America also has HIGH interest in a performance model Focus such as the ST or RS Focus soon to be available in Europe. We will either wait for such a model or go elsewhere for it and NOT settle for a RWD V8 beast. Some of us consumer are wanting an FWD/AWD monster from FORD and we are not getting anything close to that resemblance.

On the same note we would also like the Focus to be switched over to the growing C1 platform...why are we still stuck on the C170 platform when the European Focus has the C1 platform. Shouldn't cars by the same name share the same redesign? Rumors have the next redesign will also be based on the C170...why would you not redesign to an already existing C1 platform? We would like to see more consistency with the European branded Focus and the American branded Focus. We feel we are being sold less of a product compared to the Europeans.

Those online petitions have little to no effect.

these people are wasting their time petitioning Ford. They aren't gonna do it because it costs too much

Ford does need to look at the big picture if they would actually brows the focus fourms they would actually see there is a big market for a monster focus.

Yes, but even if they brought over the C1 focus in 2008 they are half a cycle late for that platform... the C1 will be replaced worldwide in 2011 or so...

After they dropped the ball in 2005, they just need to stick with it with significantly redesigned 2008 C170 Focus and just bring the C2 Focus in 2011 when the worldwide Focus and Mazda3 will be redesigned as well..

However given the current mindset, we will never again see a focus identical to the European one.. the platform will be and the interior might be, but the exterior styling will be "american"

Ok here is the problem though. We still represent a small minority of buyers so teh market isn't as big as this website makes it. The other problem is that most people buy the Focus because it is all that they can afford. While we all want a performance Focus over here there would only be a few people who are interested in a Focus that would cost close to $27,000. If they release a Mazdaspeed 3 that will be as close as we get to getting a performance focus.
