Chilton or Haynes manual?

For people familiar with either, which do you prefer? The chilton or haynes focus manual? And why?

Thanks!

I use a Haynes on mine. Because that is what Pep Boys had when I needed one.

is there even a manual for the '03 svt, or even zx3 for that matter. All i have ever seen is the 00-02 books.

They have them through 05 now, but you have to call and order it.

I got Haynes, so far so good. I could have used a little more detail with respect to removing my alternator, but aside from that, I honestly can't complain.

I prefer neither. The Helm manuals are head and shoulders better than either the Chiltons or Haynes. The Helm manuals are the same service manuals used by the dealer techs. Extremely detailed. I only have only bought the Helm manuals for all the cars I've owned. They come in two volumes with Volume One being mechanicals and body and Volume Two being ECM/sensors and wiring schematics. They're expensive but worth every penny in my book. I plan on buying a set for my 06 Focus when I get around to it.

Go to ebay and get a Factory Service DVD for about $15-30.
They have everything in detail. These are what the Service Centers use.

Make sure it's a Ford DVD and not a 3rd party DVD.

The 2005 and up even list TSB's.

Found my haynes 2000 through 2005 at autozone 18 bucks. Haynes & chiltons more for backyard mech. Laments terms. Helms more for pros. Any book can't do every thing for you. Even the pros ask for help every now and then. Hands on & experence a big plus. Thats why we have these forms right.
