Car colors

I was looking at the poll on car colors, mine's green, mostly. It has a blue driver's side front door. I noticed when I was shopping for a focus online, the the most common colors are gray/silver, white, and black. Why are some many made in those colors? Are those the cheapest paints colors or something?

I prefer almost anything besides those 3 colors. They blend in with the pavement, and are harder to see in dim lighting conditions such as rain, snow, or fog, too easily. I'd prefer red, but what I found was green, which I still like a lot better than the basic 3, but it's fairly dark, so not high on the visibility scale. Yellow's great for visibility, but, I confess, I don't care for it. I like metallic colors best. Don't care much for the non-metallic, but sometimes I see one I like.

What's you favorite car color? Any particular reason? Did you luck out and get the color you wanted, or have something else?

Most people treat cars like appliances, they just like colors that dont really stand out in a crowd is my guess.

My favorite is BRG, mostly because its a cool shade of green and isnt super common. I do enjoy my car's color though, it isnt that common for Focus. It's Dark Toreador Red, which i think was only offered in 06 and 07 (iirc.) Ford has other shades similar though

When I was buying there were 2 cars I was really interested in, one Candy Blue and the other Sterling Gray. I like the blue better but the SGM had less miles, was closer, a year newer and the asking price was lower. I do like all the flake in SGM, it looks so good when washed/waxed and I later picked up a Candy Blue SE for my wife.

I don't really have a favorite car color, but most of my vehicles have been white, gray/silver or black. Then I had a tan colored one.

When I buy a vehicle I don't even care the color, in fact, I don't even care what it looks like (bought 2 brand new that I hated the looks of - one of those I also disliked the color). I'm one of those people where the car/truck/SUV is a tool. If the tool covers my specific requirements, then that is what I get. I turn on my lights during the day, so visibility isn't a big factor.

Now I have a Red Ford Explorer - the first red vehicle I've ever had (and yes, I turn on the lights during the day). I also have a silver Focus - both bought very used. They cover my needs at the price I was looking for, so I'm good.

I have a Sonic Blue Metallic Focus. I absolutely love the color because you don't see it too often. It was a pretty expensive paint upgrade and I've only seen a couple other Focus' with this color. It's bright and shiny and easily visible without being one of those overly bright "everybody notices" paint colors. It's definitely a great color but I'll admit, I'm still a big fan of a white car.

I think that certain colors look better on different cars. Grabber blue looks great on a Mustang. But if it was on a F150, not so much. It all depends on the eye of the buyer.

I don't know what my shade of green is called, but it's a metallic hunter green, or close to it. Except my driver's door, it's blue. Aquamarine, maybe?

Anything except white is alright with me... I wasn't too thrilled with the yellow blaze when I first saw mine but it was too good of a deal to pass up (probably because no one else was too thrilled with it either). Three years later and it's grown on me quite a bit. I agree it really depends on the vehicle. Something more sophisticated like a BMW or Mercedes, to me, look best with more subdued colors, but fun cars like the focus hatch look good with bright fun colors too.
