no more rice.....exhaust is complete

well, sort of. for those of you who didn't knwo (which is probably most of you), my exhaust was not a legit catback. when i first had it done, i had the shop replace the muffler with a nice stainless magnaflow unit and then run 2.25'' aluminized pipe from there back with a nice lil tip (thus eliminating the resonator). ran me about $150 and i was pretty happy with it for about a year. well, my lil bro has been nagging to get some exhaust work done on his zx3, so we finally bought him a catback system for his. all this searching, however, made me start to want to do mine right. i toyed with the idea of just getting a whole new exhaust, but i didn't want to be out the $150 i already spent. after crawling under the car again, i realized that the work that had already been done was really good and that i didn't wana to change it. so today i had the shop finish the exhaust by putting 2.25" from the flexpipe back (for another $50). i officially have catback exhaust!

i feel better now, bc it always sat in the back of my mind that my exhaust was rice. not now. it's cheap, but not ricey. and what a difference! tone is basically the same, but the pickup is highly evident, esp. in the upper RPMs! i'm definetely looking into getting a flexpipe now, and i can't wait to see hwo that does. the header will come much later (if at all).

anywho, just so proud of my lil car. it's officially "un-ricey."

Mike

uhm, that'll be kinda hard. the car sits so low (and i'm so fat), that i pretty much have to take his word that he did anything (lol). i'm about to do an oil change sometime in the next week or so, so maybe i'll take some when i get under there.

plan on some pics of my car soon, though. no new huge additions, but i'm applying nite shades to the corner lenses right now, and i'm expecting my FF banner sometime soon!

well, i'm not sure. but if just putting on a straight piece of pipe from the flexpipe back to the muffler gives a difference, i'd imagine that flex would too.
