Why don't we have this here in the US.

I was looking around for some ideas for paint schemas for my car and found the pics of the 2012 European ST Wagon.

Now maybe it's just me BUT Why in the HELL do we not embrace the Wagons anymore in the country. I am a hardcore wagon lover and I was looking for one before I found my hatchback.

What do you guys and gals think.

Americans don't like wagons for the same reason the don't like diesels. There is a stigma that follows them. Wagons for being old peoples' cars, not sporty enough, letting down your inner teenager and selling out just like your parents did when they bought theirs. Diesels for being noisy, slow and dirty.

What Americans don't realize is wagons are the most useful version of the platform and in some cases have more cargo space than the useless crossover "SUVs" that sell like hot cakes. Buy a wagon? No way! That CR-v is totally a man's vehicle and when I compare it to an F-150 I can hardly see a difference...

Europeans love wagons because they do enough to get everyone where they need to go. Sometimes it's tight but for 95% of the time it's plenty. The rest of the world buys cars for the 95% of the time; Americans but for the 5% as evidenced by trucks with pristine beds, no hitch and only see dirt when the driver strays out of the lane and into the sand on the shoulder....

Rant over...yea it would be great to have newer cars brought to America in wagon form but out fellow patriots don't want them.

VW,Volvo,BMW,Mercedes and Audi have wagons (see a trend, rich people like wagons) but still a bit of a niche vehicle. American love their SUV and CUVs (I would say far from useless) since americans love riding high like a truck but have wagon like utility.

Hi: All... My wife loved all of her "Wagons". The last was a '05 Taurus. What I liked about them is none of my teen drivers liked them!!!

I get that this Country is not fans of Wagons but I don't think that we the consumer are fully to blame for there death here. A good chunk of it was all the auto industry pushing the more expensive SUVs and Trucks.

I know my Dad loved his old 89 Sable wagon when I was a young. He works for company that does school pictures and back then he could 2 full sets of Camera equipment in it. He wanted another one after it died but find them was almost impossible so he got a truck.
