Ricer Realism

I hate to keep using the term ricer, but you guys know who they are. My question to you is: "What percentage of them do you think are realistic about the performance capabilites of their cars?" (This pool is related to the Starting an argument. thread...)
Starting an argument.

I think almost all of them THINK they are being realistic and truly do BELIEVE they have fast cars and mods that make sense.

It all goes back to high school.
Who do you hang with, how do you impress them and do they accept you.

Some people grow out of this phase and others don't.
I'm sure people on this forum put mods on their car because their clique of friends liked them or they want to fit in to the clique.

I think most of them have never really been in a truly fast car, so a 15 second car feels fast and a 14 second car feels awesome.

i agree, when i go to buy something for my car, i sometimes ask friends what their opinion is, not just because i cant make the decision on my own, but just to get a second opinion

Ricers must die or at least be embarrassed publicly.

I'll agree with them being embarrassed publicly, it's the only way to learn.

i kinda define 'ricer' as someone who isnt realistic about the performance impact of what they're doin to the car. to me it's not so much what they do, but the attitude they do it with. Example: I have a friend who who does all sorts of crazy shit to his car, very little of it performance enhancing.. big ass aluminum wing, neon EVERYWEAR, decals for products he doesn't have, etc. The car is pure rice. but he has no illusions about the performance capabilities of his car, and when people ask (harrass...) him about it, he just smiles and shrugs. he's havin fun with his car, and while none of it is in my taste, it doesnt bug me.... on the other hand, when i hear a Civic driver rantin about how he can smoke a mustang cuz he just got his new exhaust (ie. fart can) installed, i get the urge to kill....
