chip or CAI

I am kind of new at the compact mods, so I'm hoping to get a little help from some of you experts. I read through allot of the boards and was very impressed. I know enough to feel comfortable with most the mods instals, all though I'm alittle worried about messing with the suspension. my question to you guys is what would be a smarter upgrade, the ECU chip or the CAI? My car is a 5 speed manual so I read that on most instals the speed limiter would be removed, which is a good thing. She runs so smooth up to 109 I would like to see how it handles past that. BUt on the other hand most of the racing I do doesn't get to that speed to often. So is the WHP gains for the chip better then the CIA? I know the Volant Intake seems to be the best but I can't find it online anywhere to show me how much it's going to set me back. The ICE man seems good to and I don't think it's a too unreasonableily priced. I at this point only have the Magnaflow cat back, I'm happy about it but I see really no gain in power to this point, I know the company claims something like 6 to 12 hp at the wheels, I'm not too sure about that. Any help from you guys would be great

^^ agreed. best place to get the volant is new edge. tony's a great guy.

and yeah, between a chip and cai, with a 5-speed, and especially considering you already have an exhaust, i'd go with the cai. you'll never notice the true potential of an exhaust without an intake, and vice versa. happy shopping!!

I agree with the above post. Go with the CAI, and happy racing on the track.

The chip is most benificial to people with automatics. You'll like the volant, i've had mine on for a few months now and like it. You might want to look at a 65mm throttle body when you are ready to do your next mod.

SVT Upper Front Grill and Euro lower grill is up next.
