Ever buy parts off ebay?

I have bought quite a few things off Ebay, but not any car parts. I found a chip mod that tunes for leaner fuel ratios, just like other ECU mods. Guy has good reviews, but it is only 19.99. And I know you get what you pay for. Second opinions on this find? Repurcusions on the ECU of the car? Can the ECU be reset easily?Thanks....

dont go near anything like that on e-bay. common sense shows that 19.99 for a chip mod is unrealistic

I also buy a lot of E-bay but like 00focus said, something like that is unrealistic. I just bought a real nice good trim dash kit that kicks @$$, but be weary of performance stuff.

Don't buy anything that seems to good to be true.

I don't trust e-bay, had too many problems with them over the last few years.

Ebay is not bad........you just got to use common sense...........I just saw someone selling the fog light mod that is on the How To's........and there were several fools that bid on it..........On the other had I just got my SuperChip from a guy for $75.00.............there are goods and bads..........my brother bought a SVT dead pedal(biggest joke I've seen)........looks like they JB welded a mustang dead pedal to a flimsy piece a bent metal with double sided tape on it(I don't think DS tape is going to hold your foot pushing on it, I guess it was just for looks)..........please don't condem Ebay.........just use sense when buying and don't give these morons selling crap anymore money..........

I always buy off ebay ...lets see what i got from there....gauges, intake, decals, audio stuff, etc...

just ask around if u think something sounds too good to be true...some things are good to be true...esp prices...but the chip mod or any kind of instruction kit is a waste of money...

go for it and be smart about it

Yeah, I bought that one, too. When I emailed the seller, he told me it was made by Redline Tuning...it wasn't. I made a stink and got my money back. The sad part is though, he frequents these forums.

As mentioned, use common sense with ebay. With the exception of my seller's outright deception, you can find good deals. I bought a new set of oversized forged pistons for one of my VW engines last year for like $200 (new from JE that are about $700 because they were a custom one off size that very few people needed). So....be careful, that's all.
