Lemon Law Buy Back

Had so much trouble with the transmission on my 2013 Focus Ti that I used the Lemon Law and got ALL my money back from Ford.
Loved the car but after 10 attempts of repair, two of which were 3+ weeks, I had to give it up.
My local dealer was great, they knew how to fix it, the district tech and corporate Ford would not let them.
I actually think the car may have been fixed at the last repair, but I was sick of it all and the Lemon Law process was underway at that time. After so many tranny malfunctions I did not trust the car.

I'm D O N E with Ford, dealing with "Customer Care" is a nightmare, dealing with the district tech and corporate overriding of my local dealer was just BS, something I never need to experience again.

So good bye Ford Focus Forum, good bye Ford. I do hope all of you Focus owners have problem free cars and do not have to deal with corporate Ford.
It was a good car, I got to enjoy it for about two months.

Oh, I dunno. Probably a Subaru for the wife, she likes to get off the pavement and on the dirt roads a lot.
For me? I've owned several quick street cars. The Focus was OK, but most definitely not a quick street car.
Maybe a Corvette? Or Beemer?
I've owned Fords all my life, have an F-150 which is a great truck. I'd be interested in a new Mustang, but the hassle Ford put me through on the Focus did me in, Done with Ford, sad to say.

That's too bad especially considering that DCT "gearbox" problems are rare and the replacement of the clutch assembly is not exactly rocket science.

That being said, I do believe that the difference between a satisfied owner and a frustrated owner is the quality of service.
IMO, it is absurd for someone to trade in their "troublesome" DCT equipped Focus for another Focus.

ftfy, dont want to upset the bmw folks...bimmer

My mom just got a new Outback earlier this year, she's really enjoying. Cleveland got hit with some snow this week, she's been happily enjoying the AWD. First time she's driven a car with it.

Like others have said, the focus auto wasnt the greatest and its a huge bummer you had to deal with those issues. Dont let one model keep you from other cool cars (stick with the manual, ST maybe?) If you are looking at Corvettes, i wouldnt consider a Mustang unless you need the back seat. Mustangs get a decent bang for you buck, which is always nice. New bmw M's are great too but too pricey imo.

I had to lemon my 13 SE due to the wiring harness. I had nothing but the absolute easiest experience with Ford. after the 4th harness replacement, I bi**hed about it on Twitter. the customer care manager out of Dearborn contacted me immediately and put me in touch with one of their engineering managers.

the whole process was SUPER fast and took almost no effort on my part. I contacted a lemon attorney that was local to me. Ford stepped up BIG time. Car is completely paid off and Ford went and extended my bumper to bumper for 100k miles.

I will definitely purchase another Ford.

keep in mind that each state has their own LL as well. most of the state laws are VERY stringent and seem to be made to protect the manufacturer more than the consumer.

when filing a LL claim, you do have the option, despite what your specific state law says, to file it Federally as well. the federal law is in place to protect you from underachieving state laws. as in my claim, I had to file under Federal protection because WA state LL is abysmal.

Who paid off the car....you or Ford? I do like the 100,000 bumper to bumper warranty....just had carpet and new dash replaced in mine....fought with dealer for about 1 1/2 years 'til I called them down for lying to me...then I got everything I wanted replaced...done, now I get treated like I want to be...great! I'm glad Ford extended the warranty on the DCT to 7yrs/100,000.
