Sounds as if people are just itching to help you pay for rebuilding your car.

Seems like some people actually try to take me out. I've been almost wiped right off the road twice in a month.

One idiot went right through a red light on a highway road as I was turning left onto said road, had to lock the brakes and came very close to a high speed impact.

The other one came flying around a right turn through a red light and into my lane, had to lock the brakes again (no ABS) and was able to veer enough to avoid t-boning him.

That's not counting the usual idiots changing lanes without looking or cutting me off.

I feel sorry for the person that finally does make contact with my car.

My best story was the School Bus that hit me at a light.

Driver said "I didn't think you were going to stop for the red light".

While not as dramatic as all of that, my 93 Escort was not once, not twice, but at least three times had the front bumper crashed into when people were backing up, at least twice in parking lots and once on the street. Pretty crazy watching a lady back up 30-50 feet and hit your car, should I have backed up maybe, but she should have been watching where she was going so she wouldn't have backed up far enough to hit me.

First time cracked the bumper (during the winter so plastic was less flexible), 2nd time destroyed it, the grill and head lights but at least didn't damage the radiator or ac condenser, after getting the insurance check junkyarded a color matching bumper, ebay'd the headlights and used a ratcheting tie down strap wrapped around a tree to straighten the radiator support and was back off and running. Until I rear ended somebody in stop-n-go traffic on the "expressway" then had to JY another bumper (and back then was hard to find 91-96 Escorts in paint code DD (dark mocha frost metallic) in the yards.
