Visor Label Removal

Any hints on how to remove those ugly labels on the visors? On BMWs the label is a decal and a careful application of goo-gone will blister the decal and make it removable.

I tried the same trick with the Focus visor label and it appears to be a plastic label with very, very, very strong adhesive, rather than a decal, i.e., goo-gone has no effect. Warming it up with a hiar dryer also had no effect.

Is there a technique for removing these Ford airbag labels?

i'm pretty sure it's ironed on to the point of being one-with-the-visor.

Might just want to reupholster the visor, or place a more appealing decal over the one you want to cover.

If I don't get any good suggestions, I may just mask it off and spray some gray plastic paint on it.

But I'm hoping there's a method out there somewhere, just as the BMW guys found a method for the BMW decals.

Penguin, this is what I did. I had mine reupholstered by a company called Vinyl Specialties in New York. The name of the company is their web site address. The price is $30 each. My old vinyl sun visors are now covered in gray cloth - no stupid airbag warning labels with a baby being ejected from a car seat.

Well, if you take that label off, will you remember how to use the airbag when you need it?

Well, lacking any better ideas, it looks like I'll just mask the label off and paint over it with some gray plastic spray paint. Goo Gone and Goof Off have no effect on the label.

You could (I know, I'll get nailed for being "ricey") buy some of those Visors with LCD screens in them. They are only like $125 on ebay for BOTH left and right, and all you need to do is plug the screen into something...

Amanda, I'm guessing this is the link, I just searched "Vinyl Specialties New York" and it was like the 4th one down.
