EU foci

Im in Italy right now and every car here seems to be a focus...Everywhere you look you see one, as opposed to the states (atleast where I live) you are hard pressed to find even one. I noticed they are TDIs, do those put out less hp than its american counterpart? I was also wondering if I was to buy european parts over here, how much cheaper would it be than buying it from a parts site in the US...

If you buy them from there I think you'll not have to pay shipping, if they are charging any(at US). I think the prices there(US) are good cause of many shops.
Come to Greece ! Feel the sun and the sea...

Blueglo- if you know what you like, I'd get some parts there... buying in Europe or from home you'd still have to deal with the exchange rate. But this way you just need to stow them in your luggage, no extra fees for shipping! Does Italy still use the lira or the Euro, and what part of the country are you in? Enjoy your stay there!

The TDI's are deisel foci's, I'm not sure if they have less power but they do get incredible gas mileage.
You know what they say about women and trolley cars.........there's plenty of em in the sea.

The TDi have a max HP of 114 compared to our gas Zetec of 130 HP. (Must confess, not sure if they measure at the crank or at the wheels-big diff) But, the Torque is higher than our gas Zetec even on the lowly 89 HP desel. The most powerful Desel, which has 114HP has a torque of 184!(I say max because there are at least 3 different versions of the TD Zetec, but all are 1.8 litre.)
Man, I'd sure load up before I came home. It's not that you can't locate the euro parts from the States ( well most of the popular ones any way) but it is the damn shipping cost. I was going to purchase some headlamps from a German internet co. untill I realized the shipping would be $65. I decided to go with a US importer because I could more easily return parts and receive customer service. Price ended up being about the same w/ the reduced shipping.

When I moved to the States, the only car I wanted was either a Focus ZX3 or a Golf III VR6.........Being alone in this country and fresh off the was an issue so I went with the Foci......a lot a friends in France have them tricked out........I was disapointed to see there were less aftermarket parts here ( home of Ford) than in France.........

less aftermarket parts here? where the heck are you looking? sure the european exteriors may look tempting as they are different, but when it comes to performance the US has it, and it has it cheaper
