Unhappy I got overzealous

Hey guys,
Remember all my questions about mods and whatnot? Well, I was being stupid since this is my first car and I cant even drive it till March... I've never driven in the US before and I was already talking about modding it, stupid. I am 17 and have no budget until I find a job, lol. In August I'm moving to Arizona for college and should probably wait to mod until I get over there because of the different climate conditions. How many "breaking-in" miles should I put on the car before modding it?

Once again, Im sorry for wasting your guys' time..
Cya

-Seb

p.s. I got a digital camera, look for pics of my stock focus on the forum come January

What is it about 3000 to 5000 miles for a safe break-in? I always go with 3000. I may be wrong, rather be safe than sorry though.

No need to break it in.... drive it how it's always going to be driven. If you baby it... it will always be a baby.

Depends somewhat on what mods you are talking about. Many of the bolt on's don't require your car to be broken in before they can be added and will have no ill effects on your car/engine. Some things like changing to a full synthetic oil yes, it is recommended that you break your engine in before making this change. I believe 1000 miles is adequate.

First the college then the mods!

You have a lifetime for mods...believe me, I'm 25 and have to study like I'm 18, and I work the same time. Thats no good for me...difficult thing...

To those that actually answered me, thank you. I asked about the break in just because I have never worked on any car before, no need to treat me like an idiot.

In Louisville I'm in a small private school, but I think you mean where in AZ? If so, I'll be at UAT in Tempe starting August!

BluGlo....Don't feel bad...I thought there was still a break in period too...and I a lot older than 17...I say give it a couple a thousand mile break in just to be on the safe side...either way u won't hurt anything...that's what I did
