Unhappy the worst day ever at the beach

so i randomly went to panama city beach this past sunday with my g/f. everything was going great until we were sitting in traffic, and all of a sudden WHAM!!!! I get rear ended by a ********** in an explorer going like 40. and since it was out of gear i straight slammed into the truck in front of me. it was terrible. I had just put on my magnaflow this past friday, so i hopped out to make sure it was ok, then i opened the trunk, which was a task in and of itself, and made sure my speakers and amp was ok. they were but barely.

So now the bad part, my 00 sedan is only worth 5000 and some odd cents. and they will only pay 3800. I got my first estimate, and they said its about 5100, and my local ford place said they were going to see what they could do with used parts and maybe salvage my car. i mean i put my heart and soul into this focus and i do not want to loose it!!! but just in case i does get totalled, i MAY have a magnaflow cat-back for sell, near new, only about 500 miles on it. and a FC TB fairly new, and in great shape. this i will sell and will put a post up later for it in the correct spot.

but anyway i figured i would share my grief with you, only fellow focus owners would understand the pain im going thru.

and im trying to figure out if i have to get a new car, im thinking of either and 05 focus svt, srt4, or an rsx, or maybe something from mazda. gimme some ideas, and why

zx3's can look just like svt's or better if u mod them..i agree plain, they are not mucht o look at.. but even a subtle wing and perhaps a lip kit can work wonders on a focus hatchback.. good look in ur decision making.

Yup, only 02-04 for the SVTF. You can find some good deals on used ones if you look around and are willing to travel some to get it.

Sorry to hear about the rear end. If they only pay 3800, that means they aren't totalling it. They are responsible for making it look like it was before, which means that they will always lowball you. If you take it to an authorized place that will take the insurance money, the repair place will fight with the insurance company about appropriate parts and the like. My wife got rear ended in her old Geo Storm and the insurance company wanted to re-use the bumper cover, which had a huge gouge in it from the accident. Repair shop told them hell no, that that wouldn't work and finally the insurance company gave in. Don't use salvage parts. They should pay for new parts for it if they are going to fix it. Good luck with the repairs

Sorry to hear about your car. About "i kinda wanted a zx3 but my g/f is like NOOOOOOOO those are so ugly" - NEVER get something as costly as a car based on someone elses decision, unless they're buying.
