Yeah there's all sorts of good stuff going on now.

Course when I bought my Focus it had the $3000 rebate going, and "Recent College Grad" gave you another $500. But I was still IN college... now I'm graduating and Ford's giving 500 to recent grads OR current students... the flyers are all over campus.

We also got these "decoder" cards in our mailboxes to draw attention to their offer, you can go to a Ford site and see if you instantly win $10,000 (haha)... I didn't.

Oh yeah when we bought our 05, the dealership had that $800 off if you bought a automatic.
Too bad we didn't want one!

Dynamically the '05 is identical to the '04 and earlier cars. Only exception being the base model S trim which has no rear sway bar. The 2.0 in the '05 is an alltogether different engine than the previous 2 liter zetec. It is a duratec just like the 2.3 only smaller displacement. The hp ratings are as follows, 2.0 duratec=136hp, 2.3 duratec=151hp. The '03 and '04 2.3's are rated at 145hp and I think the 2.0 zetec was 130hp. So overall the '05 gets increased power over the earlier cars. Downside though is no more SVT Focus[170hp] and the 2.3L is now only available in the ST sedan.
I've driven the '05 ZX-3 SES 2.0 and liked it. Good power and great handling. Of course I much prefer the 2.3 in my '04 and the styling of the '05 just ain't my cup of tea.

xD I got mine 1.5k under, I had trade in, we recently (within 3 months) bought cars from the same dealer, a 05 Mustang GT, and an 05 Ford Explorer, Ford Explorer is family, Mustang's my brothers, and I got a focus, we're an American Car type family, lol, even though Ford isn't reliable.

I just took advantage of the $2500 rebate when getting my ST, and add in deal that my local dealer gave me since I've now bought 4 cars from them, and I walked away happy :D

I love the new Focus - Ford has done alot to it in terms of fit & finish, interior / exterior quality, options, and power [at least in the ST]. My car has plenty of go for me, being a commuter car, and looks and stuff to play with [in-dash 6 disc MP3 = way fun]. All in all the 2005 Focus is 10x the car that my 2000 ZX3 was.

I couldn't have wrecked my Crapalier at a more opportune time!

Hi all,

It seemed like a good time to buy for me too!

I was interested in a couple of other cars. However, driving the 2005 ST and the relization I could get one with side airbags for less then $14,000 sealed the deal for me.
