Ford Focus 2000 SE question

I have a Ford Focus 2000 SE, and i am not sure whether the 110 HP(SPE) motor works with a timing belt or a chain.
I am preparing to go to a service, after 100 000km, what would you suggest i should change or particularly check up. Any help would be apprechiated, thank you.

The SPI engine uses a timing belt. Good idea to change it now.. that is cheap insurance. Look at your owners manual. It will tell you what to check at that milage. But if you haven't been keeping up on Fords recommended schedual, you may need to check more things. Take a good look at suspension bushings and motor mount bushings. They are rubber and get old and need to be changed around then. Oops.. notice km... but check anyways, and keep an eye on them and catch trouble spots early.

IMO: timing belt, oil filter, transmission flush, radiator flush, serpentine belt..maybe even run some injector cleaner through your gas tank every once in a while.
