Poor hemi owners!

I just saw a dyno of an 03' Hemi ram pickup.

257 rwhp and 310 rwtq, guess the dodge boys are being cheated, since this truck is supposed to make 345 hp. 88 whp drivetrain loss thru an auto stock, I think not.

First dodge under rates the SRT-4 and now this, so sad.

Either dodges auto trans is complete trash or the engines are overrated.

Should be closer to 300 rwhp.

I wonder if Dodge will admit that they have over-rated their precious Hemi. Hmmmmm I think not. Thanks Focal for the information, I have a few people that I'm looking forward to telling this information too. Some Die Hard Dodge Fans/Friends of ours.

When Chrysler dyno'ed the SRT-4, they used a worst-case heat scenario for the intercooler. They didn't use a fan or water spray to cool it down [which simulates high-speed driving with the car stationary.] They got 215hp from that test. The SRT-4 dyno'ed properly dynos ~245hp.

Knight we are talking about SRT-4 dynos at the wheels, dodge rates the engine at 215 but I have seen them make in the 230's at the wheels. Obviously an under rating.

I don't go by manufacturer stats, they are often wrong and nothing more than a promotional tool. I look at what the car actually does.

Ok, but how is getting more power than you were told you were going to get a bad thing? It was the opposite case with the RX-8, EVO8, Sentra SE-R V-spec, and now the HEMI. It's when automakers over-promise and under-deliver that's a true problem.
